Landscaping: Landscaping Rocks -Various Sizes Look Great

Landscaping rocks can enhance the appeal of your garden. They are hard and can last a lifetime and can hold the soil within the garden bed so it keeps your garden clean. However, the use of landscape rocks depends on the type of your garden. Various kinds of landscape rocks can be used in different landscaped areas and gardens.

The first thing you need to consider is that your landscape should receive appropriate attention equally as the softcape and hardcape of your garden. Whereas theiving things like plants and trees make up the softcape, the hardcape is composed of non-living garden parts like landscape rocks. These two categories can be used harmoniously in your garden to improve its overall look. In other words, choosing the most appropriate variety of landscape rocks can create a perfect combination of softcape and hardcape that enhance the look of your garden.

The boulder is the first kind of landscaping rocks. Since this is larger than the other rocks, this is usually used as a marker of your garden's entrance. This is normally placed where your garden opens. As this is quite big, its placement in your garden is crucial and should be carefully planned.

Decorative landscape rocks which are generally used on garden paths are called flag stones. They are normally smooth and are spread over sand. You can also form unique eye catching patterns by arranging flag stones methodically.

Another type of landscape rocks are the river pebbles which are used along your garden's dry portions. They help in containing rain and water into specific areas of your garden that may not be reached by water normally. Hence, using these in those areas help promote growth of wet plants particularly.

Granite is the last form of rock used in landscaping. It is usually utilized for furniture and other extra features that can be put near or within your garden. It adds a welcoming charm to your garden making people want to go and sit there.

There are several aspects to consider when selecting landscape rocks for your garden. The first is color. Since they come in a wide variety of colors, from green to gray to red, it is imperative that you know what colors to choose to complement the color theme of your garden. When colors are wonderfully combined, your garden becomes lovelier and more attractive. If you go for a more natural look, your best choice would be porous rock. This type of rock looks ragged and worn and can easily attract decorative moss for that earthly warm effect.

The next thing to consider is the available space you have in your garden. It is essential that landscape rocks are not placed in areas where they block something as this can be an obstacle and an eyesore. You should remember not to use sharp rocks too as they can injure someone who steps or falls on them. It is advisable to create a certain degree of uniformity in the overall look of your garden by opting for landscape rocks that are similar.
